| | Future Town is one day activity designed to encourage pupils’ innovative and creative thought as they design their perfect “town of the future”. The activity delivers the citizenship agenda whilst providing an opportunity for the pupils to practice key skills. |

Pupils imagine what their town may be like in 25-30 years time. They work in groups of about 25, each developing a particular theme: Housing, Education, Transport, Working Life, Shopping, Finance, Energy and Waste and Sport Recreation and Leisure. Students present their ideas to the other groups during the afternoon.
To deliver parts of the citizenship agenda. To give pupils the opportunity to develop and practice the key skills of team work, problem solving, and presentation. To provide pupils with the chance to experience a different way of learning. Utilizing the experience and knowledge of the business facilitators ensure that the pupils are learning in a fun and different way.
Business volunteers use their knowledge and experience to offer support, inspire creativity and act as a springboard to help pupils to develop their own ideas and then present them effectively to their peers.
An event co-ordinator and at least 8 teachers to be responsible for organization and any issues of discipline.
A complete school day. Briefing time for all staff involved in the day.
Bookings should be made up to a year in advance. Planning/briefing meetings are essential for all staff involved.
