Support the teaching of both Construction and Design & Technology through a range of very popular initiatives including the provision and management of 2 mobile classrooms, organising taster days and arranging coaching sessions |

| | | | | | | | | | | To offer a valid, recognized, practical alternatives to the traditional studies at key stage 4, accredited by the Regional Open College Network Awards
To support students achievement in their course work with additional professional coaching provided by building, design and IT specialists working in the construction industry
To provide pupils with information and “ hands on “ experience so they can make informed option choices at key stage 4
To improve teacher delivery of curricular areas such as stress and structures as a consequence of attending a professional development event ( PDPs) for Design and Technology
These range from one-off occasions to long term commitments.
The mobile classrooms which currently operate in the Spelthorne and Runnymede area and Reigate, Banstead and Tandridge, operates for 37 weeks a year
The coaching sessions have occurred regularly over the autumn and spring terms
The taster sessions will occur late autumn and early spring
This varies according to the different initiatives requested by schools.
Two pilot workshops to support gifted and talented pupils are to be held in December 2004. These may be expanded in 2005
Booking of coaching support for Design and Technology students should be made in early 2005 with the intention of the service commencing the following September |
