MENTORING
The Surrey Schools Mentoring Programme is the planned involvement of selected adults from the Business Community in local schools aimed at developing supportive, one-to-one relationships with school students who are failing to realise their potential.
15-16 year olds in their last year of compulsory education
PUPILS
ACTIVITIES
A Mentor gives 45 minutes, once a fortnight for a school year to spend with a young person on a one-to-one basis. During this time the mentor will offer support, guidance and the benefit of their life experiences and become a trusted friend and role model
 
To raise pupils’ self esteem, confidence and improve communication skills
To develop organizational and time management skills
To give  pupils an insight into the world of work, raise their vocational aspirations  and hence increase motivation
To raise  pupils’ academic achievement
 
 
To be able to offer 45 minutes once a fortnight for one school year to spend in a local school with a pupil
To attend 5 review meetings during the year
To be able to attend a training/induction session (1˝ hours)


We help to deliver your company’s Corporate and Social Responsibility agenda by supporting staff who wish volunteer their services to a local school.
Provides excellent training and experience for development of staff communication, coaching and mentoring skills.
We promote your company’s involvement in EBP links in all our publicity
